We’re heading into the all-important third week of the 2016 NFL preseason, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking on the Cleveland Browns on national television on Friday Night. Traditionally, the third week of the preseason is when starters get the most playing time, and that should be the case tomorrow night as well, with Jameis Winston and company on one side, and Robert Griffin III leading the starting offense for Cleveland.
The Bucs have looked pretty decent this preseason on the level of individual players, but have struggled to put together quality team performances. Special teams has been especially concerning, but the offense has struggled to score as well. Luckily, the defense has mostly looked good, and the pass rush has been a particular high point, but this Tampa Bay team has a few things to prove in this third preseason game.
or the Bucs, stopping the explosive Browns offense would be quite an accomplishment. The Bucs don’t have the athleticism and speed that Cleveland has, but they should also be a little less sloppy and inconsistent than the Browns offense. On the other side of the ball, the Bucs need to put together a complete game on offense. Moving the ball down the field, avoiding turnovers, and scoring in the red zone.
